I'm fairly certain the big ones are female.

I like most spiders, carry a shooting stick to remove webs in my path when needed.
Enjoy catching cool looking spiders like this male spiny-backed orb-weaver.

I recently watched an Orb Weaver eat it's large existing web right before a summer rain and rebuild it, all within 20 minutes. Phenomenal........
