I have a question about something that seems weird.

I built a AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor and it puts two rounds through the same whole and third shot just off center @ 100 yds. so it's good to go. I have already purchased a barreled action in 6.5 PRC. I am just trying to figure what stock I want to go with.
Why not order a B&C and then put in a notification request with Brownell’s for when they get the long action “deluxe” back in stock, since you seem to be waffling between synthetic and wood?

I finally got it out and measured the length of the action. It's actually longer the Ruger 25-06 action by a smidge. I guess if I would have just got off my fat butt and measured I could have figured it out and save my breath in that encyclopedia of info on the OP. I feel like a jack ass now! Well I am kinda one all the time but that was a extra dose of dumb ass right there. ,🤣

You may commence the feedback now!

This is one of situations where you are told one thing and then comes to find out that it is not exactly accurate.

I was ordering my 6.5 PRC barreled action from Brownells and the description said Howa 1500 LA. When a while back a member ask what action do you use for a 6.5 Creedmoor. I suggested either could be used it was just based on personal preference. Well I took hell for that comment and many said I was incorrect. Well it seems Howa uses a long action for the 6.5 PRC that was clearly designed for the short action. So when I ask what was the deal someone said exactly what I mentioned in the other post that the long action could be used for longer projectile seating depths. Well I was set straight in there by a few of the OG grand elders of the ODT hierarchy.

Moral of the story? There is always an exception to the rule regardless of what you hear from the self proclaimed Gods of Gunpowder! So do your own research and relay what you see and read. Nobody is right all the time. Some are just so set in their ways that they refuse to accept sometimes the answers are just not what you think you know. Keeping an open mind expands the intellect but a full cup has no room for more! " Confucius say. ".

Good honest post Greg, this is why I always default to your reasoning on these things.

greg vess greg vess i thought your question was what kind of stock to buy? Like brand and style.
The post was " Something seems weird". It was about the action being used for Howa 6.5 PRC ".
I had taken loads of crap because I answered another post with the question " What action is used for the 6.5 Creedmoor " and in my research I found both could be used. I found that info in many other forums. I did mention in that other post the length of some 6.5 seating depths exceeded 3". Well immediately I was jumped on by the OG's of ODT and was told it was a short action only. So with that lambasting I took it as I was wrong. " INCORRECT ASSUMPTION on their part! ". I was right as the Howa uses a LA for the 6.5 cartridge. Fact of the matter is that I was confused because I thought every other source I had read that said they used a LA for their 6.5 Creedmoor was completely wrong and that there was no other option. That's why I was concerned about Brownells saying that my barreled action I ordered was indeed a long action. This prompted my original post. The stock being used was just the afterthought " what about " of the original post subject.

Naa naa boo boo
Stick your head in doo doo! 🤣🤣🤣

I just had to do that.
