When you buy a new gun and plan to carry it. Do you go shoot it first or do you just carry it and depend on the reliability of the semi auto firearm? I know my answer, I want to know what y'all do.

Carrying a gun without shooting it first is like pissing in the dark.
One of the worst feelings I ever had was the first time I took a Kel Tec P3AT that I had used as a backup/pocket carry to the range and found out it was a jam-o-matic. Talk about blood running cold... and that was just a secondary, not even my main carry.

Does this question only apply to non Glocks?
Like buying a car without hearing it run or a test drive to carry your pregnant wife to the hospital. Expensive as it may sound, I fire a magazine of whatever I am gong to carry before I entrust it
