Who gives a **** about the rapist?!
Think about the logic... A woman gets raped, so she had sex outside of marriage-so lets just kill her.....
In what universe of ****tardery does that make any sense?
That isn't actually Islam, but Arabic and several other cultures, and predates it thousands of years. If you had any understanding of how important family honor was to those people you would understand why it happens. The Bible also says stoning a woman is cool too BTW.
In England, the US, and most of Europe (but not places with Muslim influence like Austria and Spain) It was believed as late as the early 1900s that having sex with a virgin girl would cure venereal disease.

I agree that no one has a monopoly on stupid....
But those ****birds sure have some very different ideas about honor if they think stoning a VICTIM is something to be admired.
**** em and their family "honor."
It goes something like this:
A) She did something (stupid) that left her in a situation that she could get raped (away from a male family member/ husband, etc).
B) Her family did something (stupid) that left her in a situation that she could get raped.
Either way, she is now "damaged goods" and it will be very VERY hard for her to ever get married to another family or tribe, and so she'll be burden on the family as a spinster that will never leave or produce any children. Her family's honor is stained because someone ****ed up and a daughter got raped. So is the rapist's family too. The general way to settle this is with a blood feud. Basically the families go to war which can leave a lot of people dead. So the solution that solves both of those problems, is to pin the blame on the girl kill her (or send her to a convent), and have the rapist have an "accident", and everyone pretends it never happened.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but Islamic cultures grew up in a tough environment and haven't had as many generations of "civilization" to round off the rough edges like the West has.

This is just the most dramatic, sensationalist cases that people who want to shake their fingers at Muslims like to point out. Rape is MUCH more common in the West and India than in Muslim cultures. When it happens, it usually happens to "outsiders" Westerners or Muslim women who aren't conforming to Islamic custom.
