I need a recommendation for a non-chain restaurant in Cartersville/Emerson

It's okay. Walking through Wally World last weekend I saw a giant carton of Goldfish Crackers and instantly became 5 years old. Had to have it.
Interesting... You seem more like a Teddy graham cracker type guy, based on your posts.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. :behindsofa:

Went to Doug's Place for early lunch at 11. They were slammed. Collards had good flavor but FULL of thick stems. Cornbread passable. Chicken breast fried a bit too long, leg was the best I've ever eaten. Creamed corn starchy. Squash casserole so so, not much solid. The mac & cheese forgettable.

The fried okra alone would be worth the drive from Macon. About the best I've eaten grandmother's notwithstanding.

Their breakfast is good. My wife likes fried chicken livers , so we usually do lunch there when she wants some. I can’t eat’em but I like the chicken fingers, beans&greens , and fried okra. The chicken salads are good too.
