I need law advice. Anyone a lawyer?

I called the police and got a report but I’m not going to put any information on this forum in less One of you are an attorny.

My situation: Sheriff won't do anything because DA says they won't do anything, "so why waste my time?".
Me: "But Sheriff, if I did this to you, what would you do?" Sheriff: "Well, you'd be in jail!"
FYI
Paid a lawyer $175 for "free consultation" to go "uh huh" and "yep" for 30 minutes while she worked on other stuff and her kids ran around in the background, and then tell me what I already knew and read the state statute for me. All the other lawyers were too busy to take on any new cases.
At this point, I regret inviting the law into this.
Be prepared for everyone to tell you, "you're just going to have to sue him civilly." Then find out that costs way more than you lost.

Poor guy just wants a lawyer. If he wanted to share his life’s story, the OP would’ve been longer.
