I want a 1911 But don't know what kind to get. help!

Springfield mil-spec is a good jumping off point. This platform will get you started and is great out of the box, better sights than the gi, and is easily customized later down the road.

The Mil-spec was my first 1911 and it is a great introduction.

For the price the Taurus isn't really all that bad. Our dept. had to qualify one night and another fellow brought his NIB Tuarus 1911 with him. He allowed everyone to shoot it, a bunch to say the least. When we left that night it had 500 rounds down the barrel without a cleaning or malfunction. Since he is a range instructor he took it the next night with the same results. Alot of of you are saying why didn't he clean it etc... He purchased this pistol with the intentions of a torture test to compare to his high dollar 1911's. In the end we were all highly impressed at the accuracy and reliability for the price paid.
