Lack of "gay ass" scope mount could very well be your biggest regret if you decide to scope it... I have several PTRs and have sold/traded out of the ones without it. However, to each his own "gay ass" accoutrements!!

I have bolt action rifles with scopes. Scopes on a battle rifle are gay.

As someone who has actually seen battle. Yes, let's hope it doesn't. My experience with glass after getting blown up mortared and having shrapnel from concrete/ mud stucko or however you spell it impact my face and the glass is this. You won't be able to get that broken glass off your now useless battle rifle fast enough and you better hope you have a decent set of irons and not flip ups for back up.

Can't disagree with that!! For quick access, I do have QD mounts so the irons are readily available.
