Identifying Help

Does anyone know anything about this gun? Google hasn’t been very helpful. This was my great grandfathers gun, and I’m told it’s an old Chicago Police gun. That’s all I know. If anyone could point me in the right direction as to what exactly I’m holding, that would be great.

Majority of the markings are faded. I did my best to make out what it says though. The left side of the barrel reads “ 38 SW Special U.S. Service CTG’S” and the right side of the barrel reads “PAT’D APR 9 89, MAR 27 94, MAY 21 95, JUL 16 93, AUG 4 96, DEC 22 96, OCT 4 98, OCT 8 01, DEC 17 01, SEP 2 02, JUL 7 03”.

Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

I figured that much lol. Just can’t seem to determine the exact model. There’s like a million different frames and whatnot around this era

Is it stamped near the hinge when you swing out the cylinder?

Looks like a pre ww1 Hand Ejector, .38 Military & Police Model of 1905.
