A CCW is generally for concealed carry only. A GWL is for carrying, both openly, or concealed. It also covers the carry of knives.

Here is a question that I have not been able to find the answer to.

You are allowed to carry in any fashion in your personal vehicle with or without a GWL. Now how about open carry on your motorcyle without a GWL? Technically you are in/on your personal vehicle.

I would say yes, open carry on a motorcycle is OK, although as soon as you step off your motorcycle you would be breaking the law...

Thats what I thought. I have applied for my GWL friday so it wont be a concern anymore. But with that in mind I always went from the house to the range with no stops between.

I belive you do have to have it in a holster. But the loophole is that the "holster" is undefined.

In GA a holster is no longer required.

It's never been illegal to carry in a national forest (in Georgia) with a permit. The only exception would be those parts of the national forest that are in WMA, where you have to follow WMA rules. Now you can carry in a WMA, so there is really no difference.
