If you could take a fishing trip where and for what?

Got a mate with a 40th bday coming up. He's thinkin' 'bout a fishin trip - maybe a half day, all day, or overnight over a couple of days. Probably stateside, and could be anytime between May and November 2013.

Question is: if you could get away for a day to 3 or 4 days to fish, stateside, where would you go, what would you fish for, and what time of year?

He's caught everything from musky to shark to rays to reds to trout to bass to noodlin for catfish. Just poppin the question to learn what places/areas/fish others might go for. Feel free to PM instead of replying here if ya don't want to give up a honey hole.

snook fishing in port charlotte/punta gorda, fl is a blast.

several years ago, i went with several buddies and it was amazing. you'll probably need a guide but it's not that much relatively. it's kind of like bass fishing but on salt flats / mangrove coves in the bay. we went in march or april.

I've caught a marlin in Cabo San Lucas but..... I've always to catch a big tarpon in the keys, a big norther pike in some remote norther lake, salmon during the run, or find a bunch of small mouth somewhere. I've never caught any of those.
