If you paid more than $400 for a 30/30...

I paid more for mine. It’s an early 70’s model 94 that I bought last year from one of Odt’s finest people. It’s an anniversary gift my wife and I gave each other to celebrate 30 years. 30 30 (30 years each) and a model 94 ( the year we got married).

It’s in a glass case on the wall and I’d have paid way more.

My first was from JC Penney. Marlin 336C. Came with a scope, mounts and a box of shells. Total was $96. I bought a 12 pack with the change from a hundred on the way home. 1976. Those were the days.

Still have my fathers stamped Jc Penny, but i believe it’s a 30a 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s not 1974 anymore. This is a dumb thread
Show me a thread about prices thats NOT in steals and deals that isn’t dumb.

So many people who seem genuinely concerned about the spending practices of people they’ll never meet. Crazy

I don't understand how people are so interested in what other people think about what other people think about things. I think.

I, too, have one I didn't pay more than $400 for, that I've killed a pile of deer with. The great sentimental value has nothing to do with this topic.

But, you know, ODT.

Inflation/supply and demand
You can hardly get a new center fire lever action rifle of good quality for less than $900 now a days off the shelf.
With that being said I’d buy a new Henry or Marlin ANY DAY over some rusty 50+ year old used rifle on here.
I could care less if it’s J.M stamped, the new Ruger Marlin’s are better any ways.

I can say my microgroove shoots better than an old one. At one time I had a very nice, in the box, gold trigger 357. The holy grail if you will. And a newer microgroove with safety, hate that safety. But it out shot my old one, so i sold it.
