If you pull your gun on a person you saw shoot someone, don't talk to them shoot them!

getting involved in these disputes is a no win situation. your damned for reacting slowly or quickly. if the gun is in his hand and he turns toward you, drop him in his tracks. don't say anything just shoot. other than that let the police handle it.
This^^^^^^ but in the case in question it works in favor of the perp. as it seems as if the shooter only made "an attempt" to kill the woman (one bullet hit the ground and one hit the woman). On the other hand he was confronted, while sitting in his car, by a man pointing a gun at him. Wouldn't be surprised if some smart lawyer tries to prove that his client was in fear of his life and acted in self defense and gets off the murder charge. Attempted murder may be the only one that sticks.........Just my 2c

I would NOT be surprised if this develops. Samaritan was too little too late.

Most sources are saying the woman was already safe inside the store, and the suspect was leaving by the time the so-called "good samaritan" tried to do anything. Also read one stating the suspect discharged his weapon at the ground twice and the victim was struck by a ricochet.
The relevant fact seem to be that the "situation" was already over, at which point he should have called the police and provided a description and a tag number, and went on about his day. What he did instead was a stupid decision and he lost his life for it.

OP, your understanding of the use of deadly force in defense of self and others appears to be lacking.

At the moment the wannabe hero confronted this guy the threat was over, the wife was safe inside and the suspect was leaving.

According to the affidavit, Bradden (suspect) told military supervisors he “slapped the gun out of the male's hand and then he shot the male.”

For some reason the wannabe hero was close enough to this guy to get his gun slapped away. Why get that close to a guy you know has a gun because you just saw him fire it. The suspect will say he just wanted to scare the wife and had no intention of hitting her which is why he shot into the ground at her feet. The next thing he knows is some crazy guy runs up to him pointing a gun so he shot him because he thought he was being robbed. I see the shooter not being charged for murder and claiming self defense.

What? Your statement above is a 180 degree reversal of your original post, especially the part in bold:

If you read the article it states the domestic dispute shooter had already fired his gun twice and hit the woman once when he attempted to leave in his vehicle. The guy who was killed pulled his gun to keep the bad guy from leaving. In this situation the guy should have killed him in his vehicle.

Your argument is very confusing. First you state, "In this situation the guy should have killed him in his vehicle." Then you state, "At the moment the wannabe hero confronted this guy the threat was over, the wife was safe inside and the suspect was leaving." :noidea:

I think I am going to have to stand with my first post.

Based on the fact that I don't know all the facts, I will refrain from casting judgement on this incident or making any comment other than I would not get involved in a domestic dispute.
