If you use a Georgia navigable river, you are about to take it up the kiester.

Nobody owns the flowing waters. Full stop. Any landowner who tries to stop floaters needs to be met with mass parties of 100's of canoes and kayaks floating those waters till they get the point.

It's like any other right, if you don't exercise and flaunt it unapologetically you're gonna lose it.

Indeed. But……… they do own the land that it flows across/through and that is the law. Back when I was a kid me and dad could walk and fish any trout stream we wanted and was greeted with smiles. We would always share our catch if they wanted fresh fish. Then people moved in and bought up the lands and posted it. I’ve been told by game warden friends that if landowner pushes they have to give tickets. Terrible but true.

Absolutely. GA law says they own the river beds and rocks and all that, but they don't own the water that flows through or the fish.

I get they don't want people wadding and and partying and making a mess on their land and that's understandable. But when they're dicks about people just floating through and fishing the waters that border or flow over their land we need to flood that spot with a sea of kayaks and canoes.

As long as you stay in your boat on navigable waters, there shouldn’t a problem.
I’m not a lawyer but I have stayed at one of those hotels in the past! Lol. My game warden buddies have said that just because you can “navigate “ the water in a float tube or canoe that doesn’t make it a “navigable” water. My understanding is it has to be able to be used in some sort of commercial capacity to be navigable. Idk for sure but I’d ask on specific locations to avoid the possibility of a problem.
