If you were judge, jury, and executioner - what would you do?

I agree with the hefty fine but I think they should be made to put the thing right back where it was and then get their asses handed to em'! What a bunch of dumbasses!

THose things fall over all the time, it would have been gone in the very next rain. I don't see the big deal AT ALL, and I am pretty mindful of nature conservation. If he had tagged it up with some paint, then I'd be annoyed.
Silly waste of time, attention and resources. It's a small boulder...and they are all over out there. Are people REALLY this touchy about such things?

It's been there for TWO MILLION YEARS...
It took LARD ASS bracing himself against a grounded boulder to rock it over.

If it falls over in the 5-10 seconds some kid is walking by, he had horrible luck anyway

seriously...

It's part of a national park. Just think, now your kids wont have it to look at.

I can understand that it was peckerheaded thing to do, and i agree with that, but if anything the park should fine the dude (so the money goes directly to conservation), and leave it be. It shouldn't be national news. I've heard and read more about this issue than I've heard about the financial impact of obamacare, and the controversy concerning the website that costs millions that doesn't work, and illegally used software.

Tugging at your rage/heart strings is all these types of stories do. There's millions of vids on youtube of people destroying property and nature. Any time we "terraform" land for our uses, we destroy nature and move stones that have been there for millions of years, often altering the entire landscape in the process.
I'd say we are all hypocrites, every time we get in our cars and travel down the highway. :p

But yeah, a fine, maybe a ban from the park. Sucks that he was a scout leader and did that crap.
