Seems the x macro from sig started another trend…integrated comps. Recently the hellcat pro got an integrated comp version from factory. Then m&p now has their carry comp pistols with integrated comp from factory. Is this the new norm on pistols like red dots were a while back . Now basically every gun comes optic ready and it looks like now that will be the case with integrated comped from factory ? Not complaining by the way 😉

Comps / lasers / doo-dads and gadgets are cool for range toys or game guns.
I'd agree that alot of things we see are fads, or "john wick" inspired.
For me personally, I won't carry much of anything except a Glock with all Glock internals and magazines. The only aftermarket parts I'll use on a carry pistol is good quality steel sights.

OK.

It's not a fad. People are simply starting the realize the value, so comps on hand guns are gaining widespread acceptance.

Manufacturers are starting to build their guns ground up for a comp as well. Keeps things more compact, but also ensures proper operation of the firearm, or at least set parameters to what will work. No longer do you need to buy a gun, then buy a $250+ threaded barrel, then a $100+ comp and then try to tune all these components to shoot your ammo reliably, and it may simply never function as expected.
