Not my pics. Taken at the SHOT Show at the Faxon display. Top barrel is a 1:1” twist, while bottom is a 1:3”.

The 1:1” is apparently a special run for a specific task.

8.6 Blackout with very heavy bullets requires that fast of a twist to stabilize at sub-sonic velocities.

8.6Blk is using 1:3”, popularly. I haven’t seen them use 1:1” in that caliber……yet.

Is it 500 whisper? That’s a wildcat I read about a while ago that uses 50bmg rounds but crazy slow. Looks fantastic

Im guessing they used a piece of rebar for the forging mandrel on that 1:1!?

wonder if it torques in your hand when you shoot it with the 1:1.

I bought a 1:5 MosTek 300 barrel recently but haven't gotten around to shooting it yet. I thought that was extreme (for heavy subs).

Will wait and see what the consensus is on the 8.6 but sounds like it would be a fun subsonic round, but the 375 raptor might be my bigger bore option...
