Is now a bad time to invest in 7.62x39?

I‘m looking to pick up an RPK or higher quality 47/74 to add to my collection. With the ammo ban would it be a bad time to invest in more 7.62 or 5.45?

It will hurt the supply because everyone will panic. But you might get luck and find someone dumping that caliber. Lots of steel is coming from places other than Russia. Academy’s cheap monarch ammo is PPU brass and steel.

Depending on much you/ or already rely on it, it might not be a bad idea to get some. Just use it sparingly
