Item is for: Sale or Trade

Item Description: Up for sale or trade is a Modelo 1882 Carabinieri contract Vetterli Carbine. This unique configuration was part of a 500 rifle contract for single shot carbines for the Italian State Police. Many were converted for 6.5 Carcano smokeless by the arsenal at Brescia for WW1 usage. This particular one was converted in 1916.
From what limited information I can gather on these, there's probably 20 in the US. I could only find one completed auction for one of these, it bid to $850. (see screenshot)
This example is all numbers matching, minus the bayonet. Made at Brescia in 1886. Good condition, with healthy patina but no spots of pitting. I have detail stripped and cleaned the gun. Bore is good. It's highly recommended to use underloaded or black powder loaded 6.5 in these conversions.
Open to military rifles, military or vintage handguns, plus or minus cash.
Would love an 03 Springfield, M1 Garand, or Colt 1903.
