These are cool. This family of guns is said to have "made the Eighties roar" the way the Tommygun made the '20s roar. Even the open-bolt semi-auto pistols like this were easily converted to full auto (only, not select-fire) by grinding down a couple of the fire control parts. ATF reclassified them as machineguns in 1982, but only applied that ruling to models made after that date in 1982, and all existing guns of that model were grandfathered-in as semi-auto handguns (meaning, you can't legally modify them into full autos now, or any time after May of 1986).

I've shot them, both the full auto kind and the semi-auto open bolt kind. They're FUN.
