    That’s the one thing this didn’t come back from Europe with. For shoring I actually prefer the lack of the sight hood though. That’s just me.

    It is grooved for it. However, whether it was not installed at the factory, discarded by the Wehrmacht trooper, or the GI that brought it home is unknown. I like the non-hooded sight picture myself.
