It is very hard to get something authenticated I have a pistol. It is a Remington Rand 1911 fully engraved by Ben Shostle the most famous engraver, he was the engraver guild of the knife makers association and gun association started engraving in the early 40s. Here is the gun I took off the grip and under it is a name everyone should know!!!! I have been in contact with his grandson, Benjamin Patton’s, and there is no way to get it authenticated to get the big money so it is very hard without proof from the person who owned it. Just a little information. Rock Island auction told me it is worth $4,000-$5,000 without proof that it was General Patton. With proof there is no telling.

You might want to contact the Cody Center and request a factory letter on your gun. Then you would have some proof of provenance.

Yes, i have only seen or heard of one other one ever mentioned any where and over the past 25 or so years since the internet has been around i have searched and looked for every year or so. It was insured supposedly insured for $250,000.00

So this is the only one i have ever seen mentioned anywhere which i personally came across this post about a month ago.

Not ashamed to say the value put on this one is what spurred me to consider selling mine.

I did notice on this one the the forearm is not checkered which i would have assumed that they all would have been but maybe they weren't or this one has had the forearm replaced.

I have periodically searched the internet on occasionally for the last 25 years have never found anything.

I also in the mid 80's to mid 90's worked about 40 gun shows per year all over the South East and only ran across a couple of advanced collectors back then that had ever heard of them but none that had ever seen one.
