I've read some stupid stuff on the innernet but this takes the cake.....

Average television, plugged in for a month continuously, without being turned on, costs about a nickel per month. I guess if you unplugged it and plugged it in every single time you wanted to watch TV, you might save about 50 cents per year.

Seriously. Closing a vent in a room? The AC is still blowing... Next she's going to tell me to drive my pickup with the tailgate down to gain .0000001 MPG!
If you only keep 2 gallons of gas in your truck at the time, you're carrying around 175 pounds less of fuel so you'll save on mileage. Imagine the savings if you got rid of your spare, jack and toolbox! You're just giving away money to the Saudis!!!
 
Many years ago while helping my grandpa change their toilet I saw a brick in the tank ,when I questioned him about it he said he saved that much water with each flush, but it would still snatch a turd! Genius!
