In the article, He admitted to throwing the airplane at a teacher with the intent to hit him in the eye, which it did, DUH, maybe 30 days in the slammer will teach him better things to do with his life.

That seems to be a little extreme, my be suspend for the rest of the year

Don't let him have another piece of paper in class for the rest of the semester/year - to take notes on, to write reports on, or to take tests on.
Gotta protect those teachers' eyes.

nowadays children lack physical discipline from youth and get away with everything thus when they become teenagers they think they rule the household and will pull even worse stunts. the govt/child services can't tell the difference between a deserved spanking and a beat down with a baseball bat so they punish every adult for everything giving power to the children that children shouldn't have

training a puppy from a early age is far easier then training a dog at 3 years old

a good whipping with a ruler or belt from either parents or teacher at an earlier age would give the early adult a lesson and this might not have happened

In the article they make a point of stating that the teacher had recently had ocular surgery (that's eye surgery for some of ya). And the student and teacher had a history of disagreements. So the teacher obviously takes it as an intended attack on his recently operated on eye. And the student admitted he meant to hit the teacher in the eye, but couldn't give a good reason (is there a GOOD reason??).
Jail? Probably not. Serious corporal punishment and some other punishment like helping out in a school for the blind????
