I like taking folks that are either scared, ignorant, or otherwise anti-gun to the range. He’s right not to overload with too much info or detail and use a small caliber but otherwise, after reviewing the basic rules I would have started with an empty gun and worked on dry firing first. At least to make sure grip was safe and correct while trigger discipline was followed before handling a live weapon.

John is the guy who permanently changed my pistol grip for the better in 5 minutes. I believe he was a Ranger. Super nice guy. Very quick with his hands.
