This is a great thing you started,full of great people,with common interests.
If someone doesn't belong,and this is brought to your attention,I believe you are a fair and just man,and can handle it

I do not think there should be a vote. This is a site for all us, but ultimately it IS YOUR site. I think if a moderator brings a problem to you, or you witness a problem, you handle it how you see fit.

What is the point of having rules?.. I think it is a BAD ideal, because BELIEVE it or not( SOME ) mods DO tend to go by thier own views or feelings about MEMBERS and that can be Good or bad. I also think you should know who is here to stay and REALLY cares about this site by the surpport they give and how they treat other members. I myself have not had a job in over 2 and a half years, and I have only worked a temp job for a month, and I surpport this site as best I can with what I have to work with. and there are many others that do also. so my 2 cents is no. if you keep the rules that is what counts not what a group of mods think of you. and by the way Steve could you send me the addresses of all the mods so I can send them all christmas presents..

We are already conduct controlled and our freedom of speech here is well censored which is not nessasarily a bad thing. The concern that I have with this not breaking the rules but can still be banned is that there are no clear lines and it is a decision based on personal feelings.

I see your point, but I can kick someone out of my house if they are acting an A$$ if I like and that is a personal feeling. This is Steve's site and he should have the final word.

And why would we want to ban someone who is not breaking any rules?

To prevent this site from becoming what happened to gon- there were too many rules and guess why- from certain types that want to be jerks and cause problems and it got so ridiculous they made rules about breathing.
Some people will push all day long to get their jollies, why should the mods and members have to be constantly burdened with that mess?

I'd like a mod to individually be able to put someone on probation without a lot of fuss. If no more problems in a certain time frame, probation repealed. If further problems the BAN time. Banning would be OS or group mods.

Somebody explain to me just when a business becomes a voting democracy? It's Steve's site and he doesn't owe anyone access. I have no doubt that someone will shortly start quoting the 1st Amendment which is totally silly - the Constitution limits the power of government - not the power of private operations. If Steve wants to ban everyone whose username begins with "N" - it's his right to do so. Also, I'll assume he chose his Mods with some care and diligence - why shouldn't he trust them? I would never be a Mod at a place where my judgement was not trusted and valued...

I can agree with that, but still think "if Steve's the man, then he should ban."

One of the reasons I have never donated to this site is I am never sure how long I will continue to come here. The handful of jackasses have already run off some members I knew well and I expected my day would be coming soon. The ability for Steve and the Mods to weed out jerks will make this place better for those of us that don't want a pissy confrontation in every thread. I raised 3 kids and I quickly tire of childish behavior...
