Just got notified I'm at 70% VA Disability. Funny how VA math works.

They added 10% for three more ailments for total of 30% but some how that equates to an additional 10% which gives me 70%. I still have a few outstanding ones they are looking at. I only started this process 3yrs ago and since 2005 until 2022 I had only 10% because I didn't know any better.

I think all mine add up to 270%. But I’m VA math at 97%, which they round up to 100% permanent and total. Keep pushing those claims….
I got out in 1990 with 10% lower back, unfit for service. I never pursued it until I got diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and it jumped to 70% in 2019. It made it to 100% in March of 2023 when they service connected the cancer to Camp Lejeune water…

Same here, 187% total but 98% according to VA math which puts me at 100%. If you are at 70% and they give you another 10% it is only 10% of the 30 remaining between what you have and 100. So 70% plus 10% = 73 percent which would be rounded down so still at 70. If they gave you 20% it would add 6% because 20% of 30 equals 6, the 76 would be rounded up to give you 80%.

Pretty good explanation there. I’ve never heard it explained like that…makes sense…

For those with 100% VA disabilities, and are a home owner, you can file for a homestead exemption for up to $121,812. Which, roughly means if your home value is $305K or less, you will pay zero property tax.

Contact your Tax Assessor office and they will help you out. If you have had 100% for a while, they can even issue refunds on previous years.

Thank you for your service.

Yup. Sitting at 93% I believe which puts me at 90% C&P. The docs tell me to keep going and push to 100%, so I will make the call for more appts soon. The math is for sure weird, and what's weirder is that each appt I go to they confirm all the issues and then I get the letter and it's either not connected or 0%. Weird.

Yes. In addition to that, they allow(in Ga) zero tax on one of your vehicles….I had just bought the CTSV when I became 100%… Zero ad valorem tax when I registered it in Ga…. That saved me around 1800 bucks…

That was always the case prior to this year. All three of the last C&P exams werw followed up in about two weeks by an upgraded rating. One had been on the books for 48 months. Trump told Doug Collins to clear the back log of old claims and they have cleared close to 60% of them this year. Not sure they were all approved but all of mine were. I went from 60% to 100% in the first 6 months of 2025.
