Welcome! You may want to find a local indoor range who can help you to learn about safety and shooting basics. They'll also let you rent or borrow different ones so you can be sure what you want before spending your hard-earned money

Great advice here by alleycat. When you are ready to purchase a gun, find a good firing range that will loan or rent you a gun to try out. Go about it like buying a new car. Look at a bunch, test drive the ones you like and then you won't make that age old mistake of getting caught up in the moment and buy one only to find out you don't like it as much as you thought you did. We'll worth the time and money. The only gamble you have doing this is you may find 2, 3 or 6 guns you just LOVE. But that's what the ODT is for.
And speaking on that, Welcome to the ODT. Greatest folks and site on earth.
