Ya know I was really deciding between Unique and W321. Read a lot about them on various forums. For a while I was planning on getting Unique, but then decided to try W321 at the last minute. I'll definitely pick up a bottle of Unique to try next.

For .38's...I really like AA#2. I'm not sure it would give good density in a 45 casing, but it burns clean in my rounds.
Universal Clays is what I recommend. It burns very clean, and has a similar burn rate to Unique. Unique ain't for me. Many love it due to its versatility. If you buy a pound of Universal, and give it a fair shake, you'll never look back. I started using W231/HP38 because Unique was too nasty to suit me.
The pistol and I both would have freckles from unburned powder back when I used Unique. I use Accurate #5 for full power defensive .45 ACP. It delivers very good accuracy and all the velocity I want, while maintaining good load density.

I just wish that there was more published loading data on it.
Lots of "personal" experience with it out there but very little of it is shared.
Still experimenting with .40 S&W but
My favorite is for 9mm 9x19: 124 GR Plated or FMJ over 4.3 GR of Universal = very fine pereformance!
