Well it's here, retirement starts Monday. 43 years with the same company.
I'm excited and scared at the same time.

Call me if you get bored we’ll go kill a pig head out west Colorado hunt elk mule deer or something

I've forgotten what day it is a couple times already. Kinda weird but you get used to it.

Date, yes. Day, no. 5 1/2yrs in so far. Besides it's always posted on the computer. I'm almost always on that

Sounds like me I worked a lifetime for the carpenter local in Atlanta 225!
Then took a part-time job and worked 18 more years!

The first couple of weeks just seem like vacation, but after the 3rd week it starts to sink in... "so this is what it is like to be retired".

I retired early at 57 (although I could have easily worked another 20 years).
It was the BEST decision that I have ever made.

My wife said she was always afraid I'd be one of those guys that retired, then died before having time to enjoy it.
Fooled her...
