The MRAD is really underwhelming. Never touched, much less seen a TRG. Handled a few AI rifles. Own a Desert Tech. I would go AI if I was doing it over again.
That said, Mile High and Euro Optic are the 2 retailers that keep the majority of those in stock. If you've got cash in hand, I would inquire and perhaps visit either one.
Last I heard, they have kind of let that Custom Shop thing die.View attachment 8222551View attachment 8222552Have you considered a BERGARA from their custom shop? Most accurate rifle I have ever shot came from them but I’m not sure they are still building custom shop rifles….
I think you've hit the nail on the head. I'm leaning AI. I just love the way AX's look (especially yours) but I won't be sad if I have to "settle" for the AT-XC...Ive got some of each and have played with them all.
AIs are a shooters rifle. Easy to change cartridges and they are fun to shoot. A little break in is required to smooth out, but when they do they're super smooth. Out of the box you're stuck buying a few accessories to complete it, but they're pretty solid otherwise. The ATX or new ATX-C is what I would get unless you want the more classic look an AT or AW give. The AX is also a sexy rifle, but mines a backup gun these days just for the chassis layout.
The MRAD is a great government rifle. It's a little big and clunky for short action cartridges, but does well with big magnums. You're limited to their extensions and mags for other cartridges.
The old Sako TRG is a classic precision rifle, and the newer chassis guns are nice but not as good as the AI or MRAD. Mags and parts are expensive.
You couldn't pay me to have a DTA.
If you're going to shoot matches, the ATX or ATXC are the way to go due to the chassis.I think you've hit the nail on the head. I'm leaning AI. I just love the way AX's look (especially yours) but I won't be sad if I have to "settle" for the AT-XC...
That's what I'm learning and I haven't heard many complaints aside from a few little things. Mostly people who jumped on the ATX 2 years ago just to have AI release the ATXC this year.If you're going to shoot matches, the ATX or ATXC are the way to go due to the chassis.
So from my research, TRG’s are very much still being made but it seems the A1 is the popular model these days.I was thinking the TRG line was discontinued and if that was the case good luck on people letting them go.
Most of the high end guns are made to order.
eurooptic.com can get high end firearms quite often.
