Legal question about stripped AR lower sell

Alright, I bought two stripped lowers. I built an AR and love it. I decided I do not need a second AR, so I decided to sell the second lower.

found a buyer, agreed to date and terms through PM's. In the last PM, the buyer discloses that this is for a build for a friend, not himself.

At this point is it against the law to sell the lower to the guy knowing it is not for him? Is this considered a straw purchase?

If he is giving it to his friend as a gift I believe it is legal and not a straw purchase.

I don't know the legality here but I'd only sell it to his friend directly now that you know.

Well I was the potential buyer of said lower. Was gonna build my best friend an cheap ar for his birthday. He is over 18 no criminal record. I simply varified from seller that it wasn't a blemished unit because it was a gift. After setting time and day for transaction he tells me it's illegal to sell to me. So I assume any one who builds an sells a gun is breaking the law? If so please tell me. I don't wanna break any laws.
