I guess our version of fun differ. Then again I have achy hands due to typing all day so maybe I am just a sissy. That sounds like the logical outcome.
It's strange, I really thought it would kick like a mule. I've tried the pistol grip 12 gauges and I hated them... The recoil was punishing.
I typically hold the Shockwave like I was hip shooting, but belly-high. It seemed like I could use my whole arm to manage recoil rather than just my wrist and forearm with the PGO gun. Everything was in-line so it wasn't torquing my wrist like PGO shotguns do either.
I could see it being different if you shoot from a higher position though, as if you were shoulding a non-existent stock. I think that's what the manual suggests but I did find that really uncomfortable.
