Legal to mod a mak-90?

Ok. Thanks guys. to be clear on my end, modifying the factory stock to a non thumbhole configuration would be non 922 compliant and possibly illegal. Correct?

922r violation would be a tack on charge after the fact and I have yet to meet a leo who can tell the difference between us made and a foreign part.

What I am saying is, use the parts you want and don't worry about it.

Ironwood stocks while "expensive" (relative term cause you get what you pay for) is by far the best bet for mak 90 stock changes if you're going for the wood look. Fits with no modification, which handfitting rear stocks to fit the Chinese receiver is a PITA. Long wait time at the moment but he's a standup guy who does excellent work.

Ironwood is a good option. I’ve done a handful of maks and have used surplus stocks from different countries with good results. It’s not terribly difficult but does require some work. Sanding the stub to fit the narrower receiver, filling the screw holes and redrilling for the longer length of the mak’s tang.

I have a Magpul stock for sale with the correct screw for that reciever, assuming that thumbhole stock is screwed onto the back of the receiver like the Yugos are.
