This ring-trigger Single shot percussion pistol was made by the Bacon Arms Mfg. Co, or whatever similar name it was operating under at that time, of Norwich Connecticut.

Company's founder and chief engineer was Thomas K. Bacon (born 1813, died 1873).

Hint- This early Colt AR has unique model designation by number and or name.

It's the model 608 survival rifle, with a 10" barrel and extra-slim fixed stock, and cut-down pistol grip.

Also called the CAR-15, but that's a term I always associate with a much different carbine, made for jungle warfare not emergency survival.
