Have the 3.31 in my F150 now. Sometimes it just doesn't get enough power to the wheels. 3.73's tend to eat gas. I'm thinking a 3.55 in my next truck should be ideal?

I have 3.73's in my current truck (F150) and wish i had 4.10's like my last truck (Silverado). Keep in mind i've got 34's on this truck and 33's on the last truck but the 3.73 just is a little low for what i'd like. I never seem to be in the right gear when climbing hills both when towing and when just driving.

Bigger tires are another story. Hell, 4.56's with 37's or 38's is questionable. But for 275/55R20, anything more than 3.73 is overkill. Those 20's are like boat anchors, but probably not enough to justify 3.73's.

bend rods over axle gear change ,,,, ummmmm no

3:55 are seeing more on standard fords , but 373 is ideal

It all depends on transmission too , the ram with 8 speed I like 392 gearing on stock wheels and tires

35 I rather have 410 min, or 456

F150 you speak of, again depends what tranny and 4x4 or 2wd and what type of driving and pulling

if v8 5.0 I suggest 373 , perfect with the 6speed auto and gets better mpg then the 331 and 355 unless you run 100 mph daily

we just did a jeep lift with 40 tires and we changed gears to 456 and runs well and the 3.6 v6 hauls ass with those heavy rims and tires (168lbs each )
