Have the 3.31 in my F150 now. Sometimes it just doesn't get enough power to the wheels. 3.73's tend to eat gas. I'm thinking a 3.55 in my next truck should be ideal?

Everything hinges on how you plan to use the truck. Are you hauling or towing or just want a little more umph?Have the 3.31 in my F150 now. Sometimes it just doesn't get enough power to the wheels. 3.73's tend to eat gas. I'm thinking a 3.55 in my next truck should be ideal?

Then you should be safe with 3.55 unless you change tire size.A little more umph without overdoing it. I don't see how guys with 3.92's or 4.10's in a stock truck don't bend rods over time.

I have 3.73's in my current truck (F150) and wish i had 4.10's like my last truck (Silverado). Keep in mind i've got 34's on this truck and 33's on the last truck but the 3.73 just is a little low for what i'd like. I never seem to be in the right gear when climbing hills both when towing and when just driving.
