Lets talk fleas

I use Bravecto, get it from Vet, kills Fleas and ticks, got 3 Rotties and a German Shepard. they stay outside all day and come in at night, never have any fleas or ticks. It is a chew able, no problem getting dogs to eat. Cheap way to get fleas out of the house, get some small lamps and some bowls of water, put lamp and water in room, turn on light , they will jump toward light and fall in water and drown. works good! Also close up house and set off flea bombs,

This is what I've started using. Best thing is, it works for 3 months. I liked Trifexis too, but all the reports of dogs having problems on it started bugging me, so I changed.

I used trifexus on mine for years, but it made my dogs lethargic and sick for a few days after the pill! Mind you it worked well on the fleas, but not the dog. I switched to nexgard about a year ago and it's been so much better, no sickness, maybe just a little drowsiness on the puppy, but my older dog has been great on nexgard.

I'll be stopping by Home Depot today and get some Ortho the yard will be treated tonight. Thanks for all the tips yall. Jihad will start when I get off work!

Keep in mind that the eggs will hatch in 30-day cycles. I would retreat the yard/house in 30 days and again at 60 days to ensure they don't come back.

I lived in San Diego for many years with no cold weather the flea's are 365 days a year on....this may sound a little crazy but it works great ..... get a dinner plate fill with water put a few drop of soap in and hang a 60watt light about 4 inches from the water ...bam the flea's will fill that plate up .. then you can use Frontline or whatever flea treatment you want to get them off the dog I'm amazed at how fast you can get the fleas out of the house this way by moving the plate from room to room

Yep my roommates dog had fleas and those little buggers would bite us in our sleep... law down lots of borax on your carpets wait a few and vacuum. Then treat your dog with a flea medicine
I have a open 2 car carport therefore the neighbors cats like to lay on hoods of the cars
,I sprinkle it around carport and they will not come,it gets on there paws, and they can't stand it.

I lived in the middle of the woods in Florida awhile back and fleas were really bad. We sprinkled Borax under the house and it worked wonders. It was an old wood frame house with wood floors and no carpeting to deal with so I can't speak for the carpeting but I assume it would work for that as well.

We currently use the Ortho for our yard and haven't had an issue since we started using it several years ago. As for the topical treatment, my dog has a ton of fur and it's hard to make sure it makes contact with his skin. We get the chewable flea/heartworm combo kind for him.

Bathing several times a week dries out the skin and only makes them itchier, fleas or not. Oatmeal shampoo is nice and soothing for itchy skin. You can also get conditioner for dogs if you're still needing to bathe often. You might need to go to a pet store though.

I hope you find relief for him soon!
