Speaking of hand cranked windows. I mustered out in 1976 after 8 years and bought a new Chevy Nova....the driver's crank window came unglued from the track piece that went up and down. That was a 'Monday' car....worst defective piece of crap I ever owned. Not long after I bought it, the freeze plugs corroded out and the internal heater core started leaking.....and I had to fight to get them to pull the drive shaft and find out what was 'tinkling' inside when you drove slow - turns out it was welding spatter inside the shaft assembly. Nothing but a damned shop queen every week until the warranty ran out. IT WAS THE LAST CHEVROLET I EVER BOUGHT.Ditto. How many times has a manual window crank in a car failed versus the electric motor in a power window in a car?
