Licenses for Bicycles? Seriously?

Summer of 2011, 8 of us rode 2300 miles in 21 days. It was Canada, though, so that doesn't count.

2,300 Candian miles is like what.... 100 miles U.S. or something? I can never remember if it's divide or multiply...

The idea is absurd. If there is a problem with "gang" bikers, make them get a permit like they do the mass boaters on the Chattooga. Don't tax Billy and Bonnie who want to ride to the fireworks show on state road X.

You asked for an example of money collected for roads not being spent on roads. GA 400 toll was that example. Take the idiotic toll aspect out of it. Money collected for GA 400 by state law was only supposed to be spent on GA 400. They took that money and purchased land.

Any additional taxes collected for roads from cyclists, more taxes on drivers, higher taxes on gases, etc., etc. will just be abused.

No epic rides for me. Just consistent riding day in and day out for a long time. My wife makes fun of me because I have cycling logs of my rides going back to the mid 90s...

LOL! No, but the exchange rate is about so. Third trip around the Nova Scotia peninsula. Up the west side and Up the east. You go north geographically the first half and vertically the second.

I think it's a great idea. Same Road Same Rules is all I ever hear from the turds that clog the roadways so they can ride their bikes on state highways during rush hour. Meanwhile they blow stop signs, impede the free flow of traffic and pass illegally on the right. Hell Yes! license, tag and require insurance for these nuisances. As a matter of fact, I think I'll donate money to each of these three legislators, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The list goes on and on. If you want to tax people just because you do not like what they are doing, then there are plenty of socialist countries around the world that would welcome you with open arms.

People who try to avoid traffic by using the exit only lane, staying there till the last possible minute, then stopping because they can't pull in to traffic. Of course I'm stuck behind them because it's my home exit. Ego filled assholes.

That's kosher. I only get out in the summer. I missed the Vermont tour (about 14 days) this year. I would love to do a fall Georgia tour, but all my riders are in the slag states up north. They won't come here for fear of the heat.

Sorry, it was a bad finance joke. I use to constantly give grief to our Canadian division about their budgets that way.... Trip sounds like it would be worthwhile for sure. Don't hit a moose!
