My mom's neighbor has one of those. I just love standing behind it when he has it out in the yard tuning it before he heads to the track. Definatley need earplugs.

I learned my lesson the first year I went to an NHRA event...NEVER, EVER stand at the back of a pit stall while those guys are tuning a nitro car. I can only imagine what being exposed to mustard gas would be like...but nitromethane fumes burn everything they touch. Eye, nose, throat...ain't no wonder the pit guys are all wearing gas masks.

In what way? I bet the dude with the 1100+hp K20 has as much money wrapped up in that motor and turbo as it would cost to build one NHRA dragster engine. And the result is that he has 1/2 the cylinders and 1/7 of the HP. If I am going to spend that kind of money...it's not going to be on a 4-banger.
