Here is a good one. Cheap, easy to make in multiple ways and can store for a long time.

This^Before you vacuum seal rice or beans. Put them in the freezer for several days. This will kill any larva that may be in there. Pull out of the freezer, let them come up to room temp then portion and seal.
Buckets from firehouse subs work tooOkay I was doing some reading and I saw that people were either using the vacuum system or they were using some kind of hair tool to seal the bags with oxygen absorbers inside. Now which one is the best is there any difference or major problems with either one of them. Cuz if I start I want to do it right and also why couldn't you store the food and just those Big 5 gallon buckets from home Depot the orange ones and snap on lids is there a difference. I mean they could be bleached out and cleaned or is there something in the construction materials that causes the reaction?
Can you recommend any specific brand of Mylar bag, or does it not matter?
I just bought some Wallaby brand 7.5 mil bags with oxygen absorbers off Amazon. Thanks.Amazon has a lot of options just make sure to view the thicker mill ones. I used a regular iron to seal a good bit of them up with ease on packing day.
If you don't mind me asking , what did you put under the bags to get a good seal ?Amazon has a lot of options just make sure to view the thicker mill ones. I used a regular iron to seal a good bit of them up with ease on packing day.
