My neighbor handed me a tomato stake...eur I mean a Mauser 88 Commision carbine. after some elbow grease and lots of linseed oil it looks shootable. first round will be from a vise and a long chord. but it's missing the front swivel band and has a broke firing pin. Anyone have any parts laying around for this rifle. buy or trade for something. I'll try to post some before and after pics when I'm through.

Ebay, Numrich, Sarco, I'd even check with Deer Creek guns in Marietta.
However, if this is a carbine, it's either a kar88 or a Gew91, so those parts might be a bit harder to find.
Also, these are not Mausers. Paul Mauser was actually a bit pissed he wasn't put on the commission that actually designed it.
Love to see some pics.

Found a firing pin on fleabay. The seller has a barrel band but he wants $40. Too beaucoup! I think a regular 98 barrel band would work.

Before. Unsure if its a bubba’d carbine or an actual factory carbine. Not seeing any with similar front sights on the net to compare it to.

Pic of yours. Yours has the standard rear sight, and straight bolt, so it was a full length infantry rifle at one time.
Hell, if you decide to let it go, I need a new winter project!
