I could probably spend hours watching YouTube video reviews on different hollow point bullet gel block tests. But then I thought maybe one of you have already settled on something you like.

I'm looking for a 9mm JHP cartridge that has good penetration and performance, meaning consistent expansion and minimal loss of grains ... yet that is also subsonic (< ~1,000 FPS) so that it can be shot out of a pistol + suppressor, so it's sorta safe for your ears. My barrel length is about 4" if that helps.

Any suggestions? What do you use?

In the past I've gone with Hornady 147gr XTP or Sig Sauer 147gr V-Crown. Maybe there's something better out there I haven't tried yet.

Pretty much anything in 147gr will be subsonic. Not sure is +p breaks the sound barrier but a gold dot, hydra shock or any other tried and true bullet in 147gr should net you optimal results.

Not wanting to hijack your thread but can I ask which suppressor you are using for 9mm?
Want to go ahead and buy one but still on the fence if I want a dedicated 9mm can or a multi caliber.
Thanks
