Looking for a good gun belt that doesn't try too hard to be taticool or dressy

Zach is in Athens Ga. Check out his website. To many options to name and he makes every one of them by hand. Great belts I wear one every day.

I owned an Alien Gear Gun belt and quality was top notch. However, I discovered something regarding gun belts I had not anticipated. Gun belts are so stiff that they form a solid "hoop" around your waist. Problem is human waists are not hoop shaped. So the effect I encountered was that while the belt supported the weight of my holster beautifully, the weight of the gun would make the hoop shape of the belt slide downwards due to the natural oval shape of the human waist. Hoop to oval = less surface area of the belt gripping your waist = sliding downwards. The belt did great gripping my hip area, but not so great around the front and back due to the hoop shape of the belt.

I realized that I needed a belt that was stiff enough to support weight, but also flexible enough to conform to the human oval waist shape. The compromise that I found was a thick, single layer buffalo hide leather belt I found on eBay. Hand made in the USA too. Stiffer than cheap double layer cowhide, but flexible enough to conform to the waist. So no hoop effect. Stretching on this leather has been minimal too. This combined with Ulticlips on my holster (vs traditional style belt clips) has been the most effective setup I've ever experienced. The Ulticlip puts the weight of the gun on the pants vs the belt, thereby keeping the belt in place better vs making the belt shift downwards. Hope this helps!!
