I'm working with my mother (73yo) and my wife who are both inexperienced shooters. I've gotten both of them to ranges but they're both experiencing some 'sensory overload' on typical multilane indoor ranges. Basically having multiple shooters at once, lots of discharge from other lanes is not letting them get comfortable and relax and is hampering the efforts here.

Does anyone know anywhere that has single lane ranges, or even a double lane that will rent both lanes at the same time?

Or are there any outdoor ranges that are not too far away? We're in the Marietta/Kennesaw area.

Any help appreciated!

If it's an option try to go mid afternoon or early morning to an indoor range that has separate areas. I know a local range (Sandy Springs) has 3 different divided range sections and a lot of the times I go I have a section to myself (I don't mind asking, and if I'm shooting subs or something it's nice to take off my ear pro). Like right when they open (or 45-1hr after they open) or in the 2-3pm range you might get lucky or not have as many people around. Ask the range staff what would be a good time or let them know what you need and they might work with you (putting people in other sections). There are outdoor clubs that have ranges/"pits" you would have to yourself, but typically they are members only places (RiverBend Gun Club would be good).

Yeah good suggestions. Probably need to take a random Tuesday off or something like that. What's the name of the range in sandy springs?

I prefer the women in my life to learn to shoot in the noisiest, busiest environment possible.
Helps them block out external stimuli and learn to shoot under pressure.
