Looking to get a motorcycle, question...

ive had 2 bikes before, but they were offroad bikes. this is my first venture into street legal bikes.

Fine then go squid, its your body. Personally I'd rather go sliding down the trail 10x rather than to go down on the pavement once. And there aren't a million cage drivers trying to kill you on the trail either. I will have back pain for the rest of my life because of a woman in an SUV looking down for 2 sec to send a text message. I wasn't even moving, I was sitting still waiting to make a left turn.

i understand the risks, trust me on this, ive seen what motorcycle crashes can do to people, i know it all too well. that said, i still want one.

I totally understand. I have owned several bikes since that accident. Just keep your head on a swivel. Riding on the street is completely different than riding in the dirt and things happen much more quickly.

I use to work for honda and the thing i learned about the older bikes is that the parts you CAN get is very expensive, and the rest of them are discontinued. The last thing you want to buy for one is a gas tank or carbs, very exspensive. (I know my spelling needs help, sorry) LOL

found gas tanks on ebay under $75. is that expensive for parts? doesnt seem too bad to me. i like to work metal, wouldnt bother me to make my own.
