Loose Dogs

yes, they have a choice, i had none.
why is it always fair for us to deal with peoples dogs running loose? why do i need to lose my pets and property first?
why is someones right to let their animals run and destroy on my property always more important than my right to keep my property safe?

i just dont get it. if i was to come on you land, chase and or kill your animals. rummage thru your trash, harass your family and make them afraid. would you let it go?
you guys seem to have some seriously democratic views when it comes to dogs.... is it just dogs? what if i had an overly large cat, or a large monitor lizard a python. would you be upset if i let it roam free. what if it ate your dogs, would you be ok with shooting it?
you guys love dogs, you attach some human qualities to them. but if they have the human traits to earn human rights, then they must be held to human standards. now i know you cant shoot a person for running dear, but you can most certainly shoot one for threatening you, or breaking into you home.
as pretty as it is, it could easily take a small to medium dog.

Thanks for proving my point about your bias. As I posted earlier, it is always okay to defend yourself. If a dog is damaging your property, defend your property. That's just common sense. But that's not what you have said. You have made the ridiculous claim that any dog that is not leashed is feral and should be killed.

If a man is attacking you, kill him. Does that mean you should kill a man for walking into your yard? That's the standard you have set about a dog.

maybe, it depends on his intentions.is he naked? does he have very sharp teeth? does he eat poop? does he chase deer? will he kill chickens? does he chase cattle and horses? does he kill barn cats? does he growl at my family? if he does any of that, the yes.
look, the best thing for you to do is keep your dogs up. a loose dog, no matter the size, no matter how sweet it seems, has the potential and instinct to do harm. they are predictors. at the end of the day, it is YOUR responsibility to keep them safe. the best way to do so, is to keep them up. think of me what you will, but know i am a very good shot, know that fido will fall, no waiting for a death rattle, just drop....
we are beating a dead horse, you think there are very few circumstances that a dog should be shot, i respect that. i just have fewer.

The "tough guy" was due to the fact you are a big bad dog killing, one shot drops in their tracks every time shooting machine.

as far as the smart little guy laughing, if you have the time, bring fido down to lamar county. let him run out around rock springs church. then see what happens. maybe he comes home, maybe he comes on my property.

Unless the dog (s) are actually aggressive or are charging towards you with intent to harm, if you shoot and kill the dog for no other reason, you are a classless punk. Most especially if it's done from a hunting stand off the ground. Dogs are not Coyotes regardless if they're chasing deer. That's why real men with a heart call them "domesticated" animals.........

They may not be Coyotes, but like Yotes in the SE, they don't belong out in the woods, if unattended. My dog is a hunting machine, and she'd do plenty of damage if given the chance.

The start of all this in the first place is the classless and sorry ass owners who won't take responsibility for their pets.
