M1 garand info

Seems like I have read those mid sixties barrels were pretty good ones. The import stamp hurts the value but not the functionality.

Take her apart lets see what else she is built of , op rod, trigger group, hammer , safety etc.

ENjoy the rifle they are great.

Alright stripped her down and this is what she's got hiding. Bolt carrier is marked D28287-I2SA and S-06 with a diamond stamped next to it. Trigger group is stamped D28290-W.R.A. But it looks like it's marked C48008-3 SA on the hammer? OP rod is D35382 9 SA. Then on the outside of the receiver where I removed the stock it's stamped B 3 6 B then below that D 28291 35. Also looks like it has faded sharpie marked the same as the stock. Hopefully this helps tell a little more of this m1s story!

The D28287-12SA is a drawing number for the bolt(The SA indicates Springfield). The S-06 is a heat lot number. Same with the other markings (WRA = Winchester). Most all M1s on the market are what they call "mixmasters" that became that way by going back to various armorers for repair. Nice rifle. Enjoy!
