Major league soccer to come back to ATL?

Yay another sport I'm not going to watch.

That's one game......time will tell how much support a team will get throughout a season,not to mention season ticket purchases.

Sure but the draw was the players on the roster. There are world class players on the Mexican team that are known all over the world. The problem with MLS is there are no real superstars yet. Hell, the US National team has not even had a real superstar. Maybe one of these newer generations will produce some headliners. Until then, the sport will likely not see an increased following.

Also, the format of the game is not suited to the pay-for-advertising model of the U.S. 45+ minute halves without commercial interruption is not exactly a big network's dream come true.

I'm surprised how many people are just writing this off as if its going to be a failure....This is going to be successful and I am extremely excited about it. You think SEC football has rabid fans you should check out European or South American soccer. Will put any American sports fan to shame....
