Duke’s is my second choice but Blue Plate for the win. Try cutting up an onion like rings and slicing a cucumber and marinating it overnight in apple cider vinegar with a littl sugar in it also.
I generally regard fresh cucumbers as poisonous but pickled they may be okay.

My buddy in Wisconsin (now) grows unbelievable tomatoes in Lake Como. His wife would slice them up and we'd eat them like hamburger patties.
